World AIDS Day.

World Aids Day.

World AIDS Day happens every year on December 1st, dedicated to raising the awareness AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection. It's when we all unite as citizens of the world, who lives in this world, to help those who have HIV/AIDS all over the world. Even though, it's easier said than done, it's worth the try for the people who are infected, have the right to live in this world and live healthfully just like us. Therefore, we human beings will try and participate to cure those ones dying everyday.

How can we do to help?

There are many ways to help and join in the awareness.

  • Health education; we can teach the poor and the uneducated - how unprotected sex can give you the disease and make sure they understand about it so they can be more careful.
  • Donation; give away free condoms, and pamphlets about the disease.
  • Buying certain stuff - Bono, vocalist of U2 is starting his own awareness, by spreading the colour red around (red clothes, red iPods, etc.) and with every red object you buy, half of the money goes to charity to those who have AIDS; objects that are fair share, half of the money it costs goes to those who have AIDS.
There are many other ways to help out. With all the people uniting together to cure those with AIDS, maybe not everyone who have AIDS, God knows we tried our best to help.

What are we doing to help?
In the school that I go to, we are pretty much educated and awared about AIDS, the pandemic disease that is still spreading around the world. Since we are educated about it, with our natural law, we are helping out in every way we can (fund-raising, donating, etc.)

On December 1st, there would be an assembly based of this disease, held by my class and I. I think that presenting an assembly is one of the main things we can definitely do in this school, because in every assembly there is, no students have the choice to attend it or not. They will have to attend it, and with them sitting down and listening to us, it'll be very useful for them, for they get an extra small lesson on what it is and what we will try to do to prevent it.

On December 2nd - 5th, there would be a fund-raising going on, held by the other Global Issue class. I think that fund-raising is also one of the main things we can definitely do in the school to help with the pandemic disease because every single student are educated with the knowledge of AIDS and since everyone has their natural law, they will definitely at least try to help out.

On December 6th, teachers in our school are going to run a mini-marathon for donating artificial arms and legs for people who are living with AIDS. I'm not quite sure if this happens every year after World AIDS Day, but I do think it should, because it's quite the good idea, with the amount of sporty teachers we have in the school.

I really hope that this pandemic disease can be stopped or at least decrease to the amount where it's just like the flu. Again, it is easier said than done, but we will never fully know until we try.

The Meaning And The Reason.

What are global issues?
Global issue is not just an elective class where we learn about the problems in the world. But it’s one of the places where you have the chance to make a difference and help the world and make it a better place. Even though poverty is the biggest crisis in the world, there’s always terrorism, epidemics, pandemics, climate change and global warming, environmental issues, racism, global financial, war between countries and many more. These are all the issues in this world that we can put an end to if we really want to.

Why should we care?

One of the many reasons why everyone should care about global issues is because it’s whatever that is going on around all of us in the world that we live in. With the education that we get about the problems in the world, we get to acknowledge more and there’s always a possibility and a chance for everyone to help out and make a difference. Like us, now that we’re going to learn more about the problems in the world, we can spread out the word to everyone that we know. With more people knowing about it, the more chance there is that poverty and all the variety of crisis in this world would end.

The photo...

"Help stop world poverty", it says across the painting. I think that the painting explains a thousands of words, moreover it's also very meaningful. Four simple words that can be said by anyone but also contains a very inspiring content. The inspiring text was followed with a pair of eyes, symbolizing the sadness the people have, the ones who goes through poverty. Right underneath the both, appears to be what it seems to be a bowl with a few drops of water and what seems to be a green plant fading in from the middle. I think this means that water is one of the most important sources for those who are suffering in poverty because they are in need for a lot of food and water to live in this world as they live life through poverty.

The quote...

I chose the quote from Lynwood L. Giacomini, "Poverty - one thing money can't buy", because people say that money brings you happiness which is true in a way, because you can buy almost everything in the world with just this invention that people crave for, called money. You might be able to help someone in poverty with a massive amount of money. But with the massive amount of people in poverty, you can never end poverty. It's like going on a road trip and finding the end of the world. Not only does it cost a lot, but it takes the longest time ever. It's easier said than done.
